What's new in the latest release of Coursedate?

  in  Course Booking Systems

The latest upgrade to Course includes a few features that make it even easier to publish courses in your course directory and manage course bookings.

Improvements to course management to make it easier to copy courses and create new instances. This is a great feature for training organisations that run the same course multiple times on different dates and at different venues. It takes only seconds to fast copy a course and create a new instance. Visitors to your course directory can then find the course and then see different dates and at venues.

  1. Coursedate now supports multiple learners per booking. This is a big change and is the foundation for further developments in the next few weeks. Course admins can enrol multiple learners onto a single booking. Client organisations can use the new ‘advanced booking’ form to book multiple delegates onto a course.

  2. Courses can have associated web links - a link to a MS Teams webinar for example. This is a useful feature for course providers that run online courses. The web link can be configured to appear in the course booking confirmation email.

  3. Further improvements to email templates. The big improvement is to the course booking confirmation email. Start times and the optional web link can be added to the booking confirmation email. Delegates/learners are now prompted to add the course to their calendar from Outlook and the calendar will show the link to the online webinar (if present).

  4. Improvements to the way our Coursedate web widgets work - you can embed your course directory in your existing organisation website.

  5. A bulk learner import function - important for organisations like multi-academy trusts that want to preload lots of learners across different schools in the trust.

  6. Tweaks to the course search algorithm to improve the relevance of results.

  7. General look and feel. Some improvements to layouts and a smarter side menu. Every little helps.

What’s coming next? The next few months are going to be busy. Our product backlog includes:

  • A calendar view and associated widget.
  • Organisation accounts.
  • Payments (including cancellations).
  • Improved reports.
  • Tutors

We’re going to continue to add new features, many in response to feedback we get from customers. The goal is to make Coursedate even more useful for training and course providers.
